To get best results with a detailed drawing of this subject, you'll want to choose a smooth paper so that you don't get too much paper texture. Note the low-key, directional lighting and the dark background which creates a sense of depth, and gives you plenty of deep tones to draw. In this closeup shot, you can't see any reflected light, but make sure you look out for it if you are setting this up to draw from life. You might like to try close cropping like this too - either draw the whole thing first then add a frame, or beginning with a drawn frame and drawing a cropped view right from the start.
