Sketch a Horse

Start by looking for your darkest, lightest, and a middle tone. They aren't as clear as I'd like in this picture, as pencil doesn't scan well. Shade in masses. Be careful to not get wrapped up into detail yet. Squint your eyes as this will make it impossible for you to see too much detail too soon. Remember, patience is a virtue!
