The horse drawing is finalized in its detailed areas. I darken the shadows on the neck and chest, and add definition in the rump, stifle, gaskin and hooves. A bit of green grass is added in along the bottom, partially covering the hooves. A dark blue shadow is added directly under the mare, suggesting overhead light. This is my 24 year old Quarter Horse Mare. She has been used as a model for more times that I can count. She is especially good at standing still while I teach a drawing workshop and the Pony Club girls all love her. She was quite a show hunter and foxhunter in her younger days.
