Pet Photography - Use Natural Light

H South, licensed to About.com, Inc.
Unless you have a pro flash setup, don't use a flash. Photographs almost always looks better taken in natural light. Time your photography sessions for times when the room is in sunlight, and take your shot with the flash turned off. If possible, sit the camera on a surface or use a tripod for stablity, especially if light levels are low. These two photographs show the difference dramatically: from an ugly, flat, red-eyed shot to a soft, warm portrait of this pair of Himalayan Dwarf Rabbits.
