The next step is to draw the wolf's fur. Using a soft pencil 6B or softer, lay in the dark details in the eyes and nose. Then with lighter strokes, indicate the direction in which the fur lays around the wolf's face. Now, using a kneaded rubber eraser, pick out some of the highlights around the face in the same direction as your pencil strokes.
I didn’t like my dark background so I pulled some of it out. I also removed a few of the original sketch lines and used the paper towel and graphite to darken some shadow area on the right side of the wolf's muzzle and face. Then I darkened the facial markings.
