This lovely portrait of Bollywood star Shahrukh Kahn has a good range of tone, and I like the way Jamal has shaded the face to capture Shahrukh Kahn's beautiful skin tones. The strong modeling of light and shade has also helped Jamal to make the face very three-dimensional, which can sometimes be a problem when drawing from photographs. I'm not too keen on the briskly shaded background, as it tends to draw the viewer's eye. This approach works if it is consistent with the overall handling of the drawing, but here it is more at odds with the careful drawing of the face and hair, so I'd like to see the background handled a little more gently. The eyes and brows are particularly well done, with great attention to detail but not overworked. Great job!
