Here is a close-up of Jamal Janua's drawing of Shahrukh Khan. Note the clever use of the eraser to create the highlights in the hair, face and eyes. This has mostly worked very well - the eraser is a useful tool. Sometimes I find it necessary to work back into erased areas a little, if the erased area looks a bit too soft or blurry as often highlights have quite crisp edges. Use a sharp pencil to carefully add some tone where required. I sommetimes use a knife to cut the corner of a white plastic eraser to a sharp point. You can also squish your kneadable eraser into a point, re-shaping it frequently as you work.
