Shading the Rose - Shading Undertones

Objects are rarely a solid color, even if their actual surface is painted a single color. Shadows, and direct, indirect and reflected light all create variations on a surface. I'm seeing a blueish violet undertone in many areas of this rose, so I'm shading an underlayer of this now. I'm using Prismacolor PC932 Violet. It's darker and bluer than it appears in the scan.
