Eddie writes, "Drawing has been a hobby of mine since early childhood. I am now 58 years old and spend a lot of my time drawing and doing calligraphy. Celebrities are one of my favorite subjects when it comes to drawing. However, most of my drawings are A3 size and not suitable for scanning ... must consider reduction to A4!"
Eddie's portrait of actor Walter Matthau is technically excellent. The detail isn't highly refined, but is accurate, so that the drawing is full of life. He captures Walter Matthau's expression perfectly, and the confident modeling gives the drawing a great deal of presence. I particularly like the strong contrast of hat and jacket, coupled with the deft linework.
