Art Gallery - Charoal Study
The Skull © Alberoni 2004

Medium: Charcoal 23" x 18"

Artist's Statement: 'This drawing was chosen at a art class and displayed at Vincents Gallery for two weeks on a student show. I only attended this class at Los Angeles College, for two months.'
Guide Comment: This impressive study uses the rich black of charcoal to maximum effect, with the skull emerging from the background. Strong modeling and attention to detail result in a really strong work. Animal skulls are great subjects, as the natural forms are quite 'forgiving' to draw (most people won't know if you make a mistake) and the complex, hollow form offers the opportunity to explore depth and shadow.
