Rose Drawing
Sketch in Pen and Ink

Simplicity: Flowers drawings look very effective when simply and cleanly drawn. Choose a well-formed bloom that you can accurately observe, such as a Tea Rose, partly opened. A dip pen allows variation in line which adds interest and elegance to the drawing: drafting pens can look rather mechanical. A slightly textured or toned paper can also look good, or try drawing over a patch of watercolor wash.
