Now about this Twitter thing. I have a Twitter identity. You can find me at @aboutdrawsketch. The latest blog post goes straight to Twitter, so that's an easy way to keep in touch. I'm also determined to become a more involved Twitterer! I just have to figure out how to actually say something in so few words! So please come and follow me, I'll follow you back if you don't look like a spammer. It would be great if you'd help me find some cool artists to follow.

I guess I’m a total failure – I don’t use either Twitter or Face Book. Most people I know are IT and we have enough computer crap to deal with on a daily basis so getting away from them after work is a pleasure. And I really don’t miss the postings telling me every intimate detail of people’s lives. “Gee – I just found a parking place right in front of Starbuck’s” sheese
Sue, you’re not a total failure for not being on Facebook or Twitter. I don’t use them either. Many people that I know, don’t.
@Guide (Myspace is still alive and kicking as well!)
@ Sue:I wholeheartedly agree with you! I can’t stand social networking and think it is the most pointless thing ever. I wish all those networks would come crashing down on themselves, fail miserably, and then cease to exist.
With the popularity of all of these sites however, I don’t see that happening any time soon.
I do struggle a bit with Twitter.
With any of these things though, I think it’s all about how you use them. Facebook has been fabulous for me – because I work online, my colleagues are across the globe, so Facebook has allowed me to get to know them on a more personal level. Emails are fine, but are closed conversations and you tend to feel obliged to write something lengthy. But I’ve found our communication on Facebook tends to be more natural, and ranges from light humor through to really in-depth discussion.
I do follow a few ‘pages’ – things like favorite writers, products that I like and so on. I tend to restrict it to things I want to know about, and so I value the occasional notice from them.
Certainly there is a lot of rubbish on there too, and I find I often ‘hide’ feeds from friends who constantly post links to music I haven’t cared about for years or Farmville or whatever – but I’m sure that works both ways
)
@ Heretic – but MySpace is hideous. I tried it for a while but couldn’t stand the sparkly unicorns.
well, I have both twitter and facebook althoug I don’t use them very often. I think twitter and facebook are just a little media to share information ~when you really need it. But most of my friends don’t really like to use it.
so, don’t fell like you’re totally failure for not using them.
I am a facebooker. And for me joining other social networking sites might just amount to tons of wasted time.Am on twitter and netlog .twitter for me is just to know whas happening and netlog ,they just kept on disturbing me. Truth iis I know I will probly visit these sites once a month or less. But I am an ardent facebooker

Hi Helen, I am on your About.com website. I clicked on; Do come and visit my About Drawing / Sketching Facebook page – I’d love to ‘meet’ you there! Feel free to post .
Then when I clicked on that link it says: there is a problem with this websites security certificate and it asked me to leave and not continue using it, so that is the reason I am sending this to you. Dessie Durham
Hi Helen, I am hoping that it wasn’t a famous artist name that you wanted. My name is Dessie Durham and I am a digital artist. I have a facebook.com fan page and also have a website at http://fineartamerica.com/art/all/dessie+durham/all.
I saw your About .com post on your website asking for names of artist and their website names, so I have sent my name and website to you. Thank you. Have a good day!
