Do you include landscape as part of your drawings? Whether you're interested in the landscape for its own sake, or including it in the background of a portrait or still life, aerial perspective is a useful technique for adding realism and depth to your compositions. Guest author Susan Tschantz has written this article on Aerial Perspective for Drawing/Sketching readers. I really like Susan's ideas about working from the horizon forward, so that you are establishing that sense of atmosphere right from the start of the piece.
