Draw a Christmas Tree - Step by Step

Thursday November 27, 2008
I've been trying to avoid Christmas - despite the canned carols which started playing at the local mall mid-November. Somewhere around December 23 I'll start getting organized. For those of you who like to finish your holiday crafts a little earlier, here's an easy Christmas tree step by step. Keep the drawing simple and fresh, with solid, confident lines - don't try to correct wonky lines or you'll lose the crispness.

I've also drawn some holiday clipart pictures which you can copy for greeting cards and crafts. I'm amazed at the clever ways you've used these tutorials and drawings. Last year Jennifer, a Drawing/Sketching reader, turned the Christmas Tree into a three-D model with construction card and double-sided tape. Very creative! And just recently my horse's head tutorial made an appearance on some wonderful Melbourne Cup Cupcakes. Yum!

Oh hi Kuka! Yes I thought they looked splendid – I get a kick out of seeing how people have used my lessons and drawings – and I really appreciated your taking the time to link back to the tutorial, too.
