Glass Framed Pendant
Monday August 4, 2008
I thought it was serendipitous that just as I went looking for her de-stashing post, Tammy had posted a project featuring a glass frame pendant. I LOVE the Emily Dickinson pendant that she's created, it's lovely and so unusual. You could create something similar with drawing, doing a crisp, finely rendered portrait in or image with delicate, decorative work in the background. I'm thinking about a Celtic tree form in a pewter frame. Something abstract in a minimalist frame could also be interesting.

Loved your article about glass pendants! I checked out HHH Enterprises and ordered double hinged glass frames. I want to do my own (very tiny) little paintings, one on each side of fine paper. What great Christmas gifts these are going to make! Thank you for your newsletters. They are always informative.
I wish I could take the credit for it, but that link actually took you over to Tammy Powley’s jewelrymaking.about.com site. She comes up with some wonderful projects. Tammy had been talking about de-stashing on our staff forum, so I went over to see her blog entry and discovered the frame article, and I was sure it would be perfect for many Drawsketch readers.
I’d love to see your creations when you’re done!
Hello,Its very very nice and wonderfull.
your work is so fantastic I enjoyed of your paintings!
I loved the idea of the glass pendant and since I work with stained glass I did mine a little different. I cut out two clear glass pieces together and put in my saying on my own wax art paper and then put tape and non-lead and soldered the pieces together and put a piece of wire between the glass for a hook. Needs some work but more I do it I believe it will come out great. Thanks for the article.
