Before You Buy Drawing Equipment
Friday June 20, 2008
If you are just starting out, or are buying art supplies for someone who is, take a look at this guide to the 'extra kit' you need for drawing. Drawing is usually a clutter-free activity, but choosing the right equipment can make it much more enjoyable. I guess you'll probably want some pencils, too. No problem. Read Before You Buy Pencils and you can feel confident that you'll make an informed choice. Don't fall into the hobbyist's trap of feeling that you have to have "all the right stuff" before you can do something, or that maybe the 'right' pencil will solve all your problems. Sure, good quality paper and the right grade of pencil can help, but the main thing is learning to really see, to think about what you see, and to think about the marks you are making on the paper.
