Negative Space Drawing

Saturday June 14, 2008
Using negative space correctly can give your drawing a huge boost. Negative Space is essentially about seeing: it describes how you look at the scene before you. You are looking at the spaces formed between different objects, or parts of the same object. Find out how to make it work for you with this Negative Space Drawing article.
Tip: If you have a negative space drawing assignment, choose an object with plenty of holes in it, such as a country-style kitchen chair, or a spindly pot-plant. The spaces between parts of the object will give you plenty to draw.
