Art History Coloring Pages
Monday May 12, 2008
Just the thing for a rainy day or a project book: a DIY masterpiece. The very talented Margaret Esaak has greated some wonderful Art History Coloring Pages for Shelley Esaak's Art History site. So far she's drawn a Mona Lisa, a Sleeping Gypsy, and American Gothic. They're very accurate but also sensitively drawn. (Please do note the copyright information. ie, they are for personal use, not re-publishing.)

I am student of Master polymer science and I have innate and violent desire to learn abstract art but here in Germany the language is the big barrier and also there are no art department in the university where I studies as this is the university if applied sciences. Therefore I humbly request you and appeal you that please guide me how to start an abstract art drawing also about colours and papers more important I have the spirit and potential to excel in this unique art perhaps more than my engineering

Hi Fraz, I haven’t checked my junk mail filter for a while - perhaps your message was blocked for some reason. (that happens quiet a lot).
I’m afraid I don’t do personal instruction, as I’m sure you understand, with many thousands of readers, I’d soon have no time to update the website!
I don’t give out my contact information other than my guide email address, drawsketch.guide@about.com
Many of the exercises on this site do have printable versions. You’ll see a box on the page that has links for Newsletter/rss, Email to a friend, Print this page, Submit to Digg on it in blue letters. If the printable version isn’t suitable, you can always cut-and-paste the images and text into a word document for your personal use.
Abstract art is an area that I’m keen to do more articles on very soon. There are some abstract artists working in drawing media and I’d like to discuss some ways of approaching it. Why not post a message on the drawing forum - some of our members might like to discuss it further, and I’ll add my thoughts too.
These are very beautiful and a wonderful idea. The images not only give young artists a chance to color the masterpieces however they wish, but it also introduces them to some of these classics. I hope she is going to continue adding to the three images she has up.
Hi, your articles are very descriptive and informative. I have also used a wacom bamboo wacom tablet and find it to be a very intersting media.Though its not very easy at first to handle once you are used to draw things by hand manually, but once you get the hang of it, its really very nice. Please include some articles on poster colors and the dry brush technique in some of your articles.Keep up the good work.
