Drawing/Sketching Art Gallery

Saturday July 28, 2007
There are quite a few new artworks online in the gallery, including this portrait of Marilyn Monroe by Kevin. There's many more still to go! Feel free to discuss any of the pieces in the drawing forum.

Visit the Drawing/Sketching Reader's Art Gallery

You can submit your drawing to the galleries. However please do read information on the submission page and follow the instructions. Please take a moment to write an artist's statement. You only need to write a few sentences about your drawing - such as why you chose your subject and medium, what you enjoyed or found challenging about the subject, and so on. This information makes your entry much more interesting to other readers, and is especially useful for beginners who might want to create a similar piece.

All submitted work is considered open to critique and advice. This is intended to help not only the artist, but other learners who visit the gallery. Please don't submit work if you may be offended by criticism.

Incredible galleries, Helen! I looked at every one! I don’t draw (on paper) these days, but I did take some classes for my interior design studies way back when. I got B’s but can’t say I really enjoyed it that much. Then I got the computer bug and ditched interior design. All my drawing now is digital. :-)

There’s some fantastic work, isn’t there – I really enjoy seeing our readers’ artwork. I’m still finding my way around digital drawing – I guess I’m a bit of a luddite at heart. Nothing beats making that first line on a sheet of crisp white paper…..

Helen, thanks for displaying some of my drawings. The exposure is nice, but to hear from others is awesome because of it. I never thought I would be the one answering questions from other artists. Cool

Thank you Helen for adding my drawing.
I attend a drawing class since September. I’ll try to share my progress here.

Hi Helen… I’m really looking forward to having my attempts at art displayed in the gallery…I am very interested to hear the comments from artists seeing as I am a beginner…I always make use out of criticisms from people who know more about a subject than myself…

P.S. I know your very busy but have you any Idea when they will be appearing in the gallery?…

all the best Boshy…

Hi Boshy, I’ll update the gallery over the next week so I can put it in the next newsletter. I love seeing everyone’s art but it is a bit of a job getting the pages done, so I’m glad you’ve reminded me!
