Happy New Year!
I used a combination of hatching and, um, sort-of stippling to suggest the hair texture and shadows - I'd started off stippling to get the coarse, short hair texture but that was clearly going to take ages, so I went for some quick diagonal hatching in the shadows! Sketches don't have to take forever - you just have to choose how much detail is essential, what you need to suggest the surface qualities and what you can leave out.

iScribble features various live multi-user drawing boards to paint images on using a mouse or tablet. Finished works can be saved to the gallery where they will be voted and commented on from other users in the community. iScibble is also a great place for learning to draw.
Thanks for that. iScribble does look pretty cool, the people seemed friendly. Some adult discussion and images, wouldn’t recommend it for under 13s. all the usual cautions about public shared spaces. However unlike many drawing boards, there was some real art going on – nobody scribbling over your work.
