Will Eisner, Comic Book Hero
Wednesday January 5, 2005
One of the real-life heroes of comic book art, Will Eisner, died on Monday at the age of 87. Eisner's comic book career began in his teens with contributions to magazines, followed by the establishment of his own studio with partner with Samuel 'Jerry' Iger. Eisner would go on to create what USA today called the 'Citizen Kane of comics', a 16-page comic book called 'The Spirit'. DC Comic's website has more on Will Eisner and his remarkable career. About.com's guide to Comic Books, Edward Pontee, has some useful links on Eisner and his work. Aspiring to a comic career as luminous as Will Eisner's?
