Found Art! was started by math textbook writer Sharon Vogt as a response to Sept 11 - she wanted to do something positive. Maria Puente's report in USA Today on the smile-inducing art movement introduces a few of the contributors, and explains the basic idea behind it. Just like Bookcrossing.com, which involves releasing favourite books 'into the wild', art pieces are let loose into the community. Registration on the Found Art! website enables you to - hopefully - track the destiny of the piece.
